SHANGHAI: Flooding fears are rife as China's 71 rivers are overflowing, Xinhua news agency reported.
The weather department has warned that global warming will cause severe fluctuations in the weather.
'This year, the rainfall is 10 per cent less than last year. However, some parts of central and southern China have experienced record rains recently, ”the water ministry said.
'The water level in Yangtze and its tributaries is expected to rise even more next week. Flooding is likely in China from June to August, ”the ministry warned.
Wuhan, in central China's Yangtze River, is expected to receive more rain than usual, according to some weather forecasts.
