Malaysia | More than 200 people injured in metro train collision

Kuala Lumpur: More than 200 people were injured when two light trains (LRTs) collided in a metro train tunnel here on Monday.

This is the first such accident in Malaysia's 23-year metro rail system.

"The 213-passenger Metro train and the empty train on a test run collided with the tunnel near Petronars Towers, the world's tallest twin towers. At the time of the accident, the test train was 20 km / h. The passenger train was 40 km / h. We were moving at a fast pace, ”Transport Minister Wee Ka Siang said.
