CM Change Issue in Karnataka; Setback for BJP rebel leaders who went to High Command

BANGALORE (May 26): The issue of Chief Ministerial change in Karnataka is back in the forefront amidst coronation. The debate over leadership change in the state has begun and quietly there has been fierce debate in state politics. On the other hand, CM Yeddyurappa's change in the state is a setback for the insurgents who have gone on an expedition to Delhi. The High Command leaders did not give time to Minister CP Yogeshwar and MLA MLA Arvind Bellad who visited the High Command. BJP leaders Arun Singh and JP Nadda have tried to meet several leaders but to no avail. Thus, frustrated state BJP leaders have returned from Delhi.

The High Command leaders have refused to meet the state BJP leaders in the backdrop of Corona. This has indirectly led to a discussion of leadership change. Minister Arun Singh has complained to the CM that he is not in charge of the district. State caretaker Arun Singh has refused to revisit Yogeshwar.

High command leaders have not even met Arvind Bellad, who has signed the MLA's signature against Chief Minister Yeddyurappa in the Prime Minister Modi Jindal case. Thus, last night C.P. Yogeshwar and Arvind have returned to Bangalore from Delhi without meeting the Bellad High Command. The BJP High Command has instructed CM Yeddyurappa to convene a meeting of BJP legislators in the state as the demand for a leadership change in Karnataka is growing. Thus, on June 7, Yeddyurappa convened a meeting of MLAs.

Various leaders in Delhi are lobbying for the space between the government and party leaders, cabinet ministers and the CM. If the High Command agrees, a CM change in Karnataka is certain, sources say. CM Yeddyurappa is about to finish his full term as chief minister.

Opposition parties have accused CM Yeddyurappa of failing to control coronation in Karnataka. Many leaders, including Siddaramaiah and DK Sivakumar, demanded that CM Yeddyurappa resign.

Union minister Prahlad Joshi, DCM Lakshmana Sawadi, Arvind Bellada, Basavaraja Bommai and Murugesh Nirani are in the race for CM position. Yeddyurappa's son Vijayendra has been accused of corruption. BJP leaders have also expressed outrage over Vijayendra's administration. However, it is said that the High Command is not ready to replace Yeddyurappa as the Chief Minister.
