Ashwin holds the record for taking 4 wickets at the World Test Championships

Mumbai: India's spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has set a new record of 4 wickets in the final of the World Test Championship between India and New Zealand in England.

Pat Cummins, Australia's fast bowler, already holds the record for most wickets in 14 matches at the WTC Test Championships. Ravichandran Ashwin only needs 4 wickets to break this record. Already Ashwin has taken 67 wickets from 13 matches. If he takes 4 wickets, he will become the highest wicket taker in the ICC World Test Championship.

Tim Southee, another bowler in the WTC Finals between India and New Zealand, took 51 wickets in 10 matches. But he still needs 20 wickets to write this record, so it is difficult to set a Saudi record.

But fans are hoping that Ashwin will be the owner of the record because of his good chance. But Southampton will play the WTC Final in England. India will only be able to field a spin bowler as these pitch speeds will help. Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel are already vying for the spot in the team. So Ashwin is only allowed to make this record if he gets a place in the team.

The WTC Final will be played between India and New Zealand from June 18 to 22. BCCI has already announced the 20-member India team. The players have already undergone a tough quarantine in Mumbai.
