New Delhi: With the fall in Corona virus cases in the country's capital Delhi, the number of empty beds and ICU units in the city's hospitals is also increasing. On Tuesday, 12,907 beds were empty, while corona patients were being treated on 14,805 beds. Corona cases in Delhi have seen a significant decrease in the last few days, along with this the positivity rate of the city has also come down significantly. On Tuesday, 4,482 new cases of corona virus were reported in Delhi. The figure was the lowest since April 5. At the same time, during this time 265 people died due to corona. Talking about the positivity rate, it has fallen to 6.89 percent.
At the time of the second wave of Corona, 50 percent of the beds in the Corona Care Centers set up by ITBP and DRDO are empty. A senior official of the control room told NDTV, "Emergency calls have come down, however, calls are still coming for ICU beds." He also said that beds are now available in government and private hospitals. He told that the recovery rate in Delhi is constantly increasing and the beds in the Kovid care centers are also getting emptied everyday.
On Tuesday, the recovery rate from Corona in the country's capital Delhi was 94.37 percent. In the last one day, 9,403 patients had beaten the corona. The city is still undergoing treatment for 50,863 corona patients.
On Tuesday, ITBP's Kovid Care Center had patients on 229 beds, while 271 beds were empty. An ITBP Covid Care Center official said, "Earlier we were getting 2 thousand calls every day, now they have fallen to 500-600 on average, most of them are for ICU beds." Also, he said that patients who reach the center are also being admitted there.
Similarly, there has been an increase in the number of empty beds at the DRDO Kovid Center. An official of the Defense Ministry told, "Initially we were thinking of increasing the number of beds, but now the situation in Delhi has been controlled a little, so now it is not needed." On Tuesday, 269 out of 500 ICU beds were vacant here.
The situation is similar at Yamuna Sports Complex Kovid Care Center, where out of 800 Kovid beds, only 62 beds are in patients. In-charge of the center said that there was no such situation a week ago. He said, 'Earlier there used to be a lot of calls, now they have reduced. Now we have 5-10 patients daily.
The Covid Center in the Commonwealth Games Village was built at a time when 25,000 cases were being reported here every day. This 460-bed center is almost completely empty. An official in control said, "We have only 61 patients at present, the decision to increase the number of beds has been put on hold." Let me tell you, these Covid centers were started when the positivity rate in Delhi reached about 40 percent.
