Covid vaccine trial tested on 5 childrens today!

BANGALORE : Five institutions in the country have been approved by the Institute of Ethical Ethics for Clinical Trials to test Covaxin, a 2-to-18-year-old Corona Virus vaccine manufactured by Bharat Biotech.

A total of 525 children from the three age groups will be part of the trial, assessing vaccine safety, rectogenicity and immunogenicity in children.

In the US, Pfizer has enrolled 2,260 children aged 12-15 years for the trial. Moderna enrolled approximately 6,750 children between the ages of six and 11 in the United States and Canada.

In India, vaccines for 175 children of every age group in the age group of 2-6 years, 6-12 years and 12-18 years are currently aimed at testing at least 35 children of every age in every medical college.

According to the Clinical Trial Registry, clinical trials will be conducted at Prakhar Hospital in Kanpur, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in Patna, Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMCR), Hyderabad Pranam Hospital and Nagpur Medical Center.

Experts warn that the second wave of coronavirus in the country has increased the risk of infection, and a third wave is likely to occur some months later. Some have also expressed concern that children may experience more difficulty in the third wave. Therefore, a panel of experts has approved Bharat BioTech Institute to start a two- and three-stage medical examination for children 2 to 18 years of age.
